This intermediate-level course has been designed so that attendees, by understanding the conceptual principles and details of the Standard, can contribute to the implementation of robust and reliable Automation Systems. As well as, to minimize difficulties in project management, reduce possible controversies over additional costs, and avoid unnecessary delays in the construction stage of new substations, or modernization of existing facilities.

This course addresses the need of hydropower plant engineers and technicians to understand design criteria and operation principles for the hydroelectric generation units and offers recommendations for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the power plant itself.
